Introduction
Kadai Paneer is a popular North Indian dish made with paneer (Indian cottage cheese), bell peppers, and a spicy tomato-based gravy. Ingredients
For the Kadai Masala:
- 1 tbsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 dried red chilies
For the Gravy:
- 200g paneer (cubed)
- 1 large onion (sliced)
- 1 bell pepper (chopped)
- 2 tomatoes (pureed)
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- Fresh coriander for garnish

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Kadai Masala
- Dry roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds, and dried red chilies.
- Grind them into a coarse powder and set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Gravy
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté onions until golden.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
- Pour in the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
- Add turmeric, red chili powder, and salt.
- Mix in the prepared kadai masala.
Step 3: Add Paneer & Final Touches
- Toss in bell peppers and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add paneer cubes and garam masala.
- Stir well and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
